I was born and raised in the suburb of Tokyo learning Japanese Calligraphy and Aikido. When I was 12, I studied abroad at a British boarding school in Malaysia and spent time there for 3 years, so I can teach you in English if you wish. I have graduated from Sophia University in Tokyo where I was majoring in comparative culture
In my free time I like to listen to music (literally anything from Hard Rock to Reggae), watch films and anime (I'm a huge Star Wars and JoJo fan), draw and travel. In the future, I want to travel around the world while teaching Japanese!عني كمعلّم
I’m a fun, open minded, positive, patient person with a lot of curiosity. I am excited to teach people with different backgrounds and learn about new cultures as well as provide interesting perspectives on Japan and the Japanese language.

My lessons are very flexibleᐠ( ᐢ ᵕ ᐢ )ᐟ! I am ready to welcome learners with different needs. I can use a variety of materials, such as news, blogs, and even Manga, if desired. Of course, I also provide lessons using textbooks and follow the curriculum. Here are some examples of lessons I offer :
-Textbook-based lessons for complete beginners to advanced learners(Genki, Minna no Nihongo,ニューアプローチ, 中級から学ぶ日本語, Try!..etc)
-Conversation practice on topics of interest
-Casual conversation practice
-Very casual conversation including slangs
-Formal conversation practice
-Extra-formal conversation practice using humble(謙譲語) and honorific(尊敬語) expressions

Nona-san, is one of the best teachers I have found on iTalki. I tried quite a few teachers before I found Nona. She has been teaching me for over 2 years and she is always great fun to have lessons with. She speaks very good English (almost like a native speaker) which means she can answer complicated questions the student might ask in English. I highly recommend Nona Sensei as the first Japanese teacher to try.

It's been already one year since I started learning japanese with Nona-sensei. Back then I was a complete beginner, I could just say some of those words that anyone who watches anime know. One year and around 50 lessons later I can comfortably say I got rid of that status of beginner and everytime I get the chance to interact with japanese people I can successfully have a conversation with them. Things like this bring me enormous joy. And that's thanks to all the help Nona gave me. Of course my level is not very high yet, I still have lots to learn. But I'm sure Sensei will keep helping me achieve my new goals as she always did so far: with a smile on her face and lots of patience. Not to mention that she is so friendly that makes it extremely easy to talk to her. If you're reading this and looking for a teacher, I strongly reccomend Nona.
I'm just sorry for her that she will have to deal with me for other 1,2,3,4...years (joking 笑).

Today we talked about everything from Doraemon to konjac!! Nona is always happy to share her knowledge of Japanese culture! Some people have a naturally open and kind personality that makes them great teachers. Nona is definitely one of these people! Thank you for another fun lesson!!

Had a great first lesson with Rinona! She's fantastic at facilitating the conversation and made it very enjoyable. I really enjoyed how she is very quick to explain points and opportunities for learning and improvement. The way she incorporates textbook work is very helpful. Looking forward to another lesson!

Nona-san is an amazing teacher with a cheerful personality. I really like that she gives very detailed and clear explanations on Japanese grammar in English to make sure everything is understood and then we apply everything using only Japanese. Thank you very much sensei! ^-^
