Hi, my name is Gert Prins, and I'm from South Africa. My hobbies include reading books, playing the guitar, going hiking, and listening to music. I have a strong interest in history and different cultures. Currently I'm trying to master Spanish.عني كمعلّم
I'm an experienced TEFL certified English teacher. With more than six years of teaching experience, I'm here to help you reach the next level. I've taught from beginner to advanced. I prefer lessons that utilize a mix of skills, such as listening and speaking, or even reading and writing (although via iTalki I will mostly be focusing on the oral communication aspect). Lessons will be well thought-out as well as tailored to your learning needs. We can focus on grammar, vocabulary, test prep, or even a simple conversation. I prefer being prepared, and I hardly ever give additional homework - however, if you're the studious type, I will be glad to give you some tasks to do at your leisure to help you improve and reach your goals. Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)For one year I worked as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) at a Junior High School in Kobe, Japan. I planned lessons, created classroom materials, and taught twenty classes a week. Furthermore, I helped students prepare for English language exams.
2013 - 2018
Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)For five years I worked as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) on the JET Program in Japan. I taught at a total of 7 schools during this period, mostly at the same three on a regular basis with occasional to the other schools. I was in charge of lesson planning and teaching classes. Although the official title is 'Assistant', most of my classes were run by me. During this period I helped many students prepare for English Language tests (such as the Eiken exam) which they passed successfully.

Auxiliar de InglésI taught English at a school in Spain. I planned and execute about 30 lessons a week with the aim of helping students develop confidence in their English language abilities and improving and building upon their language skills.
