In the beginning I trialled a few other teachers but stuck to Catherine because I found her lessons the best. I have been learning with Catherine for 6 months and have found her lessons to be engaging and very helpful. She can vary the lessons according to my needs. Initially I was travelling to China, so we did travel related lessons but now I want to improve my conversational skills, so she further adapted the lesson. I’ve been studying Chinese with her for a little over a month, starting completely from zero, and I feel like I’ve already learned a lot. I can introduce myself, talk about what I like to eat and do, use numbers, and we’ve also started learning pinyin. Her lessons are very effective because she encourages me to speak a lot and repeat naturally during class, so I always feel actively involved and never like I’m wasting time. At the same time, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, which makes learning much easier and more enjoyable. She clearly has a great teaching method, and the lessons are always engaging and productive. Time goes by so quickly during class, and I’m definitely planning to continue learning with her.
