Everyone is welcome! LGBTIQA+, neurodivergent, and people with disabilities. My classroom is a safe space. Hi! I’m Erica, a TEFL-certified teacher from the U.S. living in Brazil. My journey exploring cultures and languages led me to teach English to students worldwide. Whether you’re learning for travel, work, or fun, I’ll help you speak confidently, with patience, flexibility, and a smile!

We learn best when we feel comfortable, which is why I'm positive, patient, and encouraging throughout my lessons. As a language learner, I understand the challenges of learning a new language. However, there is no need to be nervous or afraid. We will overcome those challenges together. My goal is to help you progress and become a more confident English speaker!

During our first lesson, we will get to know each other and discuss your goals as an English speaker. This will allow me to understand your needs and prepare future lesson plans. Our lessons depend on you and your needs. I'm very flexible and I'm happy to adapt to your learning style. Please let me know if you want to work on something specific. During conversation practice, I will correct your mistakes and offer better ways to express yourself. I will type everything in the chatbox so you can review it later. These conversations are aimed at helping you speak in a more natural, authentic way. *** Please note that italki allows teachers to include a 5-minute break in the lesson time

Erica is one of the best English teachers I’ve ever had. I moved to the USA and needed to speak English daily, both in everyday situations and at work. I had a strong language barrier for a long time and couldn’t speak fluently. Erica helped me overcome it in just two months, and now communication in my daily life, as well as at work (I am a teacher), is no longer a problem for me. Our lessons feel like pleasant and friendly conversations on different topics. During the lessons, if I struggle to express my thoughts, Erica gently and unobtrusively suggests the best way to phrase them. After each lesson, she sends me a list of grammatical and vocabulary corrections to review. As a native speaker, she also enriches my vocabulary with useful words and phrases that make my English sound more natural. She is kind, attentive, and always ready to help—for example, when I need to prepare materials for my work. I highly recommend her! She is an excellent professional and a wonderful person.
