Hi! I'm Nessma, a passionate language teacher.
Outside of teaching, I’m someone who loves languages, cultures, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I have a deep passion for linguistics and enjoy learning new languages myself—I’m currently exploring German, Turkish, and French! In my free time, I love reading, especially about mythology and history, and I also have a keen interest in fitness and healthy living. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I’m always looking for new ways to grow and challenge myself. I’ve been teaching languages for years, helping students from all over the world improve their Arabic (both Egyptian and Standard) and English. My teaching journey started in 2019, and since then, I’ve worked with learners of all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced speakers.

Today, I had my first Arabic lesson with Nessma on italki, and I am thoroughly impressed. Nessma demonstrated outstanding teaching skills and a deep understanding of both the language and the learning process.

Nessma asks me if I understand, as always, which I really appreciate so much. Her teaching style of speaking to me all in Arabic and asking if I understand certain terms and concepts along the way very much suits me and my learning style. I am grateful that she has been reviewing with me every time we meet the past tense verbs that I have conjugated on my own to see if I am correct. We also discuss the patterns verbs take in the past and I'm feeling so much more confident in speaking now. She also explains cultural differences very well between Egypt and the USA and what things I should be aware of and I feel more confident that I would have a great time in Egypt once I visit in the future.

I took about 10 Arabic lessons with Nessma before going on vacation to Egypt. Nessma is an amazing teacher! She is kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and really goes above and beyond for her students. She customized the lessons to exactly what I needed to know for my trip. I would recommend her to anyone. 'Alfi shukr Nessma!

Nessma showed me a bunch of exercises to learn the past tense today and they were super helpful. I was able to use different verbs in different contexts as well as exchange verbs out for new ones in the past that still made sense in the sentences she provided and it really helped reinforce what I have already learned and learn the ways to say them in the past for the first time too.
