Hello! I'm Teacher Maura from Chengdu, Sichuan — home of pandas and hotpot, but more importantly, your fun and effective guide to learning Chinese through psychology-based methods!

You can either at will communicate with me in a free manner, or simply tell me the topics you are interested in in advance, and subsequently we will discuss them in depth.
In the course of teaching, I can correct your pronunciation, elucidate the meaning of words, record the words and sentences that you don't understand and send them to you for review after class.
I’m more than willing to answer any questions, for I have a profound understanding of Chinese history and culture.
If you're interested in Sichuan dialect, of course, I will also include this part.

Maura is a great teacher who is not only friendly but also very knowledgable. When I told her what I wanted to learn at very start of class, she was able to quickly put together a last minute lesson plan that was perfect for my needs and language level! I have had 2 very fun classes with Maura so far. She is dedicated, patient and most importantly energetic which makes the language learning process way more enjoyable. She asks pertinent questions to test my knowledge, explains the grammar very clearly, and answers my own questions comprehensively. Even though I haven't had her as a teacher for long, I can confidently recommend her.

After about 10 lessons and getting to know her, she is a fantastic teacher. She makes sure you understand that lesson before continuing to the next one. Gives me short voice texts though italki, which helps me pronounce the words correctly. EXTREMELY patient with me. Doesn’t try to rush me while I figure out the translation. Very fun and cheerful, makes the class so much more enjoyable.
