My name is Giannis Silligardakis and I am a Greek teacher and linguist. I was born in the Greek island of Crete and speak Modern Greek as my native language I have studied Ancient Greek history and language in university, which gives me an extensive knowledge of both the Greek language and culture past and present. I also have experience offering Ancient Greek lessons to high school students and I have spent a number of years teaching Modern Greek to foreigners who immigrated to Crete.عني كمعلّم
I am a flexible teacher because I understand that all students learn in different ways and at different paces. My strengths are, disciplined, prepared, friendly with new technology, friendly with students and motivator. I enjoy sharing my language and culture with others.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
Depending on the needs of my students I use both the grammar- translation and the direct approach. On the one hand I teach grammar rules in the students' mother tongue and on the other hand I use a modern conversational style in the target language with dialogues. I've been taking Greek lessons with Ioannis for 3 weeks now. It's not an easy journey for me, but Ioannis is making it fun! The lessons are full of conversation and practice exercises, which makes me learn a lot of new vocabulary in just one hour! Ευχαριστώ πολύ, Ioannis, see you next lesson!!!
