i had a wonderful first lesson with moon 선생님! 😊 i have been self-studying korean for years because of my love for bts and korean culture, so it meant a lot to hear compliments on my reading speed and pronunciation from a native korean teacher. it made me feel more confident and excited to continue learning. tagalog is my native language, and i really appreciated that moon 선생님 has experience teaching filipinos. being able to connect korea and the philippines through language made the lesson feel very natural and comfortable, and we connected right away. this was my first time learning with an actual teacher, and i finally feel like i have proper guidance and a strong foundation. i had so much fun and plan to become a regular student. i am so happy i found moon 선생님 and can fit lessons into my busy work schedule. highly recommended! 💜 감사합니다 선생님! i’m excited to learn with you. i hope i can become a student you’ll be proud of as we begin this journey together! 😊

Our lesson on cooking coincided with Chuseok, so we also talked about the foods that are prepared for the holiday. I really like how Teacher Moon incorporates history and culture with the language lessons.

It’s August now, and I’ve finished my 5-lesson package with 문선생님! I plan to continue taking more lessons with her. Throughout my total of six 1-hour lessons, I’ve already learned so much, and she is so warm and kind to talk to. She encourages me to speak Korean and form my own sentences, so I know I’m not just “memorizing” the material, but actually learning it. She also shares Korean culture and history while we learn, including how people might react in different situations. One example was when she gave me a brief, fun history of the Korean won while we were learning numbers and bills. It’s such a fun experience with her ~ I always leave class feeling happy and eager to learn more. I’m very happy to finally have some guidance. ♡ 문선생님 감사합니다!

선생님 is alway's great, I love my lessons with her, I usually come prepared with pictures of things I've done or cooked and we chat all about them, and she gives me lots of insight into korean culture. I always finish my lessons feeling like I've learned a little more Korean and come away even more confident.

Sometimes I think I understand what the teacher is saying, but then I realize i completely misunderstood and said something strange in response. Teacher Moon is very kind about explaining where I went off track, and saying it again slower or simpler so i get my confidence back.

I really like that my teacher remembers things we've talked about before, and references it later when it comes up again. It makes me feel like an individual and not just another student.
