Hi, I'm Seren and I was born and raised in North London! I'm also an International Politics graduate with First-Class Honours, currently working in TV.
I’ve lived abroad for much of my adult life and I love hearing about other cultures. I have other hobbies such as photography, food, current affairs and pop culture. I struggled learning Spanish in school so I know how easy it is to feel discouraged. I believe patience and adaptability are keys to successful language learning, so I extend this courtesy to all of my students.
Living in Mexico taught me just how important it is to speak with natives, therefore as a native English speaker, I look forward to bringing this opportunity to you!عني كمعلّم
My overall goal is to improve your confidence and abilities in your English speaking and listening skills. I am empathetic, charismatic, patient and an excellent listener. I am TEFL certified with two years experience tutoring English online. I have also studied Advanced Level English literature which means I have a very deep understanding of the English language and can help with the following:
General vocabulary (colloquial/ informal & formal)
Academic vocabulary
Specialised vocabulary (politics and sociology, climate change)
Practice for an English speaking exam (eg IELTS)
Pronunciation assistance

My lessons are generally informal and centred around conversation practice. Topics can include travel, food, current affairs or anything else. I am completely flexible and would love to adapt the topic, level of structure and level of difficulty based on each student's individual needs and preferences.
I use a variety of resources appropriate for English learners at every level, which we can use for discussion in class or for additional entertainment and study. Importantly, to avoid interrupting students whilst encouraging improvement, I provide typed corrections in real time.

Seran is totally cool!
I asked her to correct my speech during classes in order to sound more advanced, and I get a lot of recommendations and corrections during our lessons. That’s impressive!
She is a lively and outgoing teacher, highly recommend Seran :)

I had a very enjoyable and natural English lesson with my teacher Seren. We talked about London, traveling, and also about Mexico. The lesson was interesting, relaxed, and full of new vocabulary and cultural insights. Seren is kind, patient, and great at leading a conversation in a way that encourages me to speak while gently and clearly correcting my mistakes. I felt comfortable during the whole lesson and really enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm looking forward to exploring more topics together!
