Hello! I'm Daniel. I'm from Australia but I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I enjoy learning languages and travelling to foreign destinations because both of these things give me an insight into how other people live which is essential for building a more tolerant and harmonious global community. I love being active and close to nature, so in my free time I like to go cycling or hiking. What brings me most joy, however, is being in the ocean. So, most of the time you can find me at the beach trying to catch some waves. Reading is another favourite hobby of mine with books about language, culture, and history being my preferred topics to peruse.

After studying languages and linguistics at university I trained as a teacher of English as a foreign language and started my first job at an English college in Sydney. There, I had the pleasure to teach students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. From there I came to Brazil where I've mostly taught private lessons to adults at their home or workplace as well as some group classes at a local English college. During this time I also spent a year away in Saudi Arabia giving group classes to young Arab men in the capital Riyadh.

دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي

The content of our lessons will mostly depend on the student and their particular areas of interest, weaknesses and goals. As such, classes will be highly personalised and tailored to students' requirements. As a language-learner myself, I am acutely aware of the struggles faced by students while trying to attain proficiency in their target language and I strive to address those problems through friendly conversation, exercises, and maybe a little homework too. In summary our lessons will be focused and productive but also relaxed and friendly.

Daniel is a great English teacher because he is kind, patient and engaging! We've talked about the English language and anglophone culture, differences between American English and British English, different countries and cultures, music, languages, etc. It was nice to meet Daniel and talk to him in English! He is an amazing conversationalist! I hope to see him soon again!
