Hello! I’m Daniel, an Australian linguist and English teacher based in vibrant Rio de Janeiro.
My passion for languages (I speak Portuguese, Spanish, and more!) and years teaching across three continents—from Sydney to Saudi Arabia—help me connect deeply with students. Whether you’re mastering basics or polishing fluency, I blend linguistics expertise with real-world cultural insights.
When not teaching, I’m usually surfing Rio’s waves or hiking through nature—both reminders that learning, like the ocean, should be dynamic and joyful. Let’s make your English journey just as alive!
After studying languages and linguistics at university I trained as a teacher of English as a foreign language and started my first job at an English college in Sydney. There, I had the pleasure to teach students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds.
From there I came to Brazil where I've mostly taught private lessons to adults at their home or workplace as well as some group classes at a local English college. During this time I also spent a year away in Saudi Arabia giving group classes to young Arab men in the capital Riyadh.
The content of our lessons will mostly depend on the student and their particular areas of interest, weaknesses and goals. As such, classes will be highly personalised and tailored to students' requirements.

Awesome English class as always! This time I asked him questions about Brazil, differences between Brazil and Australia, driving and traffic in Russia, religion and freedom of religion in Russia, choice of building a family and other topics. It was great to see him again! I hope he enjoys his life in Brazil and I hope he'll enjoy teaching English to international students like me who are serious and interested to improve. Danny is the best teacher I could have asked for. He lets conversations flow naturally, correcting mistakes and introducing new vocabulary in a way that never feels uncomfortable. It’s really easy to talk to him (I reckon that’s because he’s a little bit carioca too haha).

Another great conversational class with Daniel as usual! We've talked about Russia, rebranding of foreign companies in Russia, differences between Russian and German, what language do I speak better (English or German), seafood in Vladivostok and other interesting topics.
