I'm Thao. I was born and grew up in Hanoi. I love traveling, enjoying food, meeting people & experiencing new things. Because of that, I've chosen to work as a tour guide, mainly based in Vietnam; so if you have plan to visit Vietnam in the coming time, please feel free to ask me questions :)
In addition, I have great passion for cooking (Vietnamese, Asian and western food); and singing. I'd love to invite you to eat the food I make, and listen to me singing if you have a chance to come to Vietnam :). I also really love animals and plants.عني كمعلّم
I'm a certified Vietnamese teacher and have been teaching Vietnamese to expats living in Hanoi and online since 2008. I used to work for language teaching centers but now I'm working as an independent Vietnamese teacher. I have experience teaching students from many countries in the world such as Europe, USA, Australia & Asia.
I love teaching, meeting students from different countries & enjoy people studying & loving our language.
My motto for learning a new language, in this case, Vietnamese, is: 'Diligence is the mother of success'. If you have motivation & love for Vietnamese, be hardworking, & the day you master the language is coming very soon :) دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I'll teach you in the way the most familiar with your mother tongue & the languages you know. My teaching style is strict & free at the same time;and I need constructive cooperation & interaction with students
My lessons are also based on your need, such as focusing on pronunciation/writing/grammar.

Lesson 1: Alphabet, combination between vowels & consonants; personal pronounces, tones, numbers

It was yet another productive and fruitful lesson with Chị Thảo today, as we did two listening exercises and reviewed vocabulary related to time and schedules. Chị Thảo has also made it a point to correct my homework, and I am very heartened to see how I have managed to use the words and structures learnt so far to describe my daily schedules and activities - definitely looking forward to more lessons!

Excellent teaching so far for someone who spoke a bit as a child, but is still a beginner. Good materials and nice cultural knowledge, as well as focus and attention on proper pronunciation. A+!

Thảo has great lessons. She is friendly, I feel more relaxed with her than the other tutors I tried. She also integrates some of the culture into the lesson. Today we practiced tones and used vietnamese cities to practice those tones. She took the time to say a little about each city, and it was nice to have some culture in the lesson.
Lessons are paced well: a quick test of last lesson's material, and then the rest is new vocab!

Thao is exceptional and will help you accomplish your Vietnamese learning goals at any level.
Her lessons are well-structured, with each session building upon the previous one. She provides homework that reinforces the concepts covered in class and dedicates time to review it thoroughly at the beginning of each lesson. She is patient and innovative, giving analogies and visualizations on how to memorize and interpret concepts.

I love learning with Thao. Because of my unpredictable schedule I cannot have regular lessons but I have been coming back to her for the past 4 years and I think that means something. She is amazing - very informative, full of good energy, patience. Just a great pedagogue. So happy she is active on this platform and I can have a true learning experience with a Hanoian!
