My name is Cameron and I'm 36 years old. I'm from South Africa where I obtained my degree in Education. I love being outdoors, that's why my hobbies are fishing and scuba diving. I also like drawing and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy cooking and I eat just about anything. I would love to be a technical diver one day.عني كمعلّم
I have a passion for teaching. The great thing about teaching is, you can shape young minds and help them to achieve their full potential. I believe that classes should be fun because if it is boring the students will not remember the lessons and they will not want to learn anymore. Even though I try to make the classes fun, I still push my students to achieve their potential because at the end of the day, they need to be able to use what they have learned. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My teaching style is one where I just help and guide the students to the right path rather than having them repeat after me like a parrot. Depending on their level, we will start off with flash cards and objects to improve their vocabulary. As they progress will make short sentences and then from there we will try to have a conversation where I can help them with their grammar and pronunciation. If I do give homework it will be something they can learn and use in their every day life, for example I will tell them to choose a dish they like making and then to write a recipe in English or Afrikaans so that they can tell me how to make it. Cameron is such a fantastic teacher. I love that, from the beginning, he has pushed me to construct complete sentences and have full conversations. His classes are dynamic and usually involve a bit of speaking practice and grammar/vocabulary, though he always shifts gears to accommodate how I'm feeling on a given day. I was starting from 0 with Afrikaans, but his teaching style has made learning a new language feel approachable. Absolute 10/10!

Another great lesson with, Cameron! We just had organic conversation, and even though my Afrikaans speaking skills aren’t where I want them at the moment, I’m noticing I’m understanding a lot more in context to what Cameron says to me in Afrikaans. Progress is slow and steady, but I’m hopeful to get to a point of holding a decent conversation without assistance in the near future. Baie dankie, Cameron, Totsiens!

Had an amazing first lesson with, Cameron! He was super patient and talkative the entire time. We shared plenty of laughs as we conversed between English and Afrikaans. He makes every bit of the conversation by finding ways to implement a teachable moment. He’s encouraged me when I had moments of second guessing my pronunciation or confusing between words. I’m looking forward to continue with his style of teaching. Baie dankie, Cameron!! ☺️
