Hey, how's it going? My name's Catarina, I'm Brazilian and I live in Mogi Mirim, a small town in the São Paulo State, in the Southeast of Brazil. I'm 27 and I've been working as a professional Portuguese and English Teacher for 7 years.
Besides being passionate about learning and teaching foreign languages, I also like to study history, arts, philosophy, theology and music. I can't really play anything, but that's in my future plans. I love literature as well and I dream of writing a book someday.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, exploring random but interesting videos on YouTube and traveling to wherever fits in my budget.

I have a teaching degree from University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where I studied Portuguese. I also have a degree in English teaching and the CELTA Certificate by University of Cambridge. I've been learning English since I was 11, and teaching it since I was 16. I spent 5 months in Germany in 2017 and this experience abroad made me develop great intercultural skills - I love meeting students from all over the world and not just teaching them, but learning so much from them at the same time.
Throughout my career, I have taught kids, teenagers and adults, in English schools and at the university. Since 2020, I've been working exclusively with private online classes to adults (16+). دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
In my classes, I adapt or create personalized materials according to the needs and interests of each student. I generally focus on communicative and intercultural skills, working on some grammar points along the way. I like to use authentic materials (such as YouTube videos, movies, songs, podcasts, etc.) as much as possible, so you get in contact with the real-life language and culture.

Catarina é uma professora incrível ! I've been having classes with her for more than 6 months now and i cannot believe how far i've come in Portuguese. She really knows how to make the student feel comfortable and confident and even when starting i was not afraid of talking or practicing the language, while going at my own rhythm. Thank you so much for all the classes, and there will be many more!

I 100% recommend lessons with Catarina, I have had issues with finding good Portuguese teachers in the past, but I really struck gold with her. I learn so much each class and can't wait for each lesson, obrigado!!!

I had a wonderful lesson with Catarina!! She is an excellent teacher who provides great feedback while remaining very encouraging. Each lesson feels personally tailored, and learning Portuguese is more fun because of it!

Catarina is not just a great teacher, but she is also fun to talk to. She prepares well for her lessons, has a plan and study materials ready, but she is also flexible and ready to discuss any topic that might come up.
Languages is my passion, I've had about 40 teachers in the past 30 years and she is one of the best I've ever had! Obrigado :)

Today was my first 60-minute lesson with Catarina, and it was amazing! Catarina is a fantastic teacher who speaks and teaches at a level even beginners can understand! She is very kind and patient with new students like me. If you have been thinking about learning Portuguese, I highly recommend Catarina!!
