Kumusta! I’m a Licensed Professional Teacher from the Philippines, specializing in teaching Tagalog in a fun, easy way. With 8years in public schools and 5 years on Italki, I’ve helped hundreds of students—from beginners to advanced—speak Tagalog confidently. My passion for languages (I also speak basic Japanese!) lets me connect with learners globally. I can describe myself as a friendly, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable person. I am also enthusiastic and respectful. As I mentioned, I have years of teaching experience both from a public school and here in Italki. I want my students to learn and have fun at the same time. Thus, I promise to be as effective and efficient as possible. My goal is to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced learner, I am here to support you every step of the way. My teaching style can be described as informative, interactive, and supportive. I assure you that my lessons are easy to grasp and understand. I also prioritize a learner-centered approach to improve the collaboration skills in our class. Together, we will explore the Tagalog language, from grammar and vocabulary to pronunciation and communication skills. But more than just mastering the language, our goal is to build confidence and fluency so that you can express yourselves confidently in any situation.

Sally is an excellent professional teacher. I’m not saying this lightly. She is truly a really good teacher. Her classes are well structured, well organised, and done confidently without wasting any time. The classes are packed with knowledge of grammar and plenty of practice. She covers twice the amount of material as other teachers in the same amount of time. She also has incredible patience to repeat the same sentence or words many times and she gives lots of examples.
I have had over 3000 classes on italki with many teachers and have experience in the field of education, so I know how good Sally is. Without a doubt I can highly recommend her for anyone learning Tagalog.

Sally is an incredibly patient and enthusiastic teacher. I've learned so much with her! You will be able to speak Tagalog after taking her classes, sometimes without you realizing how much you've learned until you start understanding your in laws without thinking about it... haha:) After her classes, I always walk away feeling refreshed & excited and like I've unlocked more pieces of the Tagalog puzzle. Sally is an excellent teacher! She created dialogues based on scenarios, topics, and materials I wanted to practice. In lessons, I get to practice listening comprehensive, speaking, and learning new vocab and grammar. We practiced how to express emotions, give encouragement, and express sympathy. Thank you!!!

Sally is an excellent teacher. She created specially tailored lessons focused on what I'm seeking to learn and practice. We learned and practiced talking about feelings, expressing concern, and real life situations like sharing challenges at work and if a family member is in the hospital. Each lesson I'm able to practice listening, speaking, and translating.
