I specialise in helping my students develop confidence in their language abilities.
My lessons are ideal for the following types of students:
English lessons
- Adults who already have a good general knowledge of English grammar, but need to improve their speaking, pronunciation, listening, reading, writing and comprehension skills to feel more comfortable communicating with native English speakers
- Students who plan to live in or visit Australia or are native German speakers
German lessons
- English speakers in the beginner or intermediate stages of their German learning journey who would like to deepen their understanding of the inner workings of the language (grammar, vocabulary, etc)عني كمعلّم
I'm from the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia. My native language is English, which I speak with a standard Australian accent, and I also speak German fluently.
I am an extremely experienced teacher, as I spent 20 years teaching mathematics before shifting my focus to language education. I teach both English and German here on italki. I also offer general language and life coaching services, plus mathematics lessons for high school students.
I am an active language learner myself, so I have an excellent understanding of the typical challenges when learning languages and how best to overcome them.

English lessons:
I help you improve your English communication skills so that you will be able to successfully interact with native speakers. In my professional communication training sessions, I teach you how to confidently express yourself in clear and authentic English. I also provide English conversation lessons.
German lessons:
I teach German in English, using a combination of my own structured grammar teaching materials and advanced story-based text analysis techniques. My students find it invaluable to be able to improve their understanding of German without the added pressure of being taught in the language itself.

Check my lesson hours with Michelle, and trust me, you won't find a more patient and dedicated teacher. You can book her classes, but don't book too many or there won’t be any time slots for me! The first lesson with Michelle just ended and I would like to recommend this teacher with all my heart. Michelle is friendly and ready to help you with finding the right word to express your thoughts. She asked some questions about my level and goals in English. At the end of the lesson, I obtained a short review of my skills and some further recommendations. I felt that I was in the hands of a professional :)
