Greetings! I am Mai, a native Arabic speaker and professional Arabic language instructor based in Cairo, Egypt. With over 14 years of experience, I specialize in teaching Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic to non-native speakers, as well as Arabic for Specific Purposes tailored to individual needs. My expertise spans all proficiency levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners seeking to refine their conversational skills or parents wishing to introduce their children to this beautiful language. My teaching methodology emphasizes interactive, student-centered approaches that adapt to each learner's unique style, ensuring both effectiveness and engagement.
I hold a Ph.D. in Education from Cairo University, with a specialization in Curricula and Methods of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I developed strong skills in simplifying language, explaining complex concepts, and creating engaging learning environments for diverse learners. This experience has broadened my horizons and fueled my passion for teaching Arabic as a second language. With over 14 years of experience, I have taught students from various nationalities and backgrounds, using innovative, student-centered approaches that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.

I have been learning Modern Standard Arabic with Dr Mai since 2002. (Read my previous reviews) She teaches with sincerity, patience, and kindness. Her lessons are well organised, and she always provides notes after each class for revision.
Now I am learning Egyptian Arabic with her from the beginning. Egyptian Arabic requires proper guidance and a distinct approach, making learning with an experienced teacher crucial Dr. Mai explains clearly and makes learning comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended.
