Hi there! I’m an English teacher and entrepreneur from sunny South Africa with a passion for yoga and the outdoors. If I’m not teaching, you’ll likely find me on a hiking trail, in the kitchen, or immersed in a creative project. I’ve had the privilege of connecting with hundreds of students globally, and I’m currently expanding my own horizons by studying psychology and alternative healing, allowing me to bring a mindful, person-centered approach to every lesson. My students and colleagues often describe me as a dynamic and easy-to-talk-to teacher with a genuine passion for human connection. Growing up in the vibrant diversity of South Africa has given me a unique perspective on how we communicate across cultures. I believe the most effective way to master a language is through a conversational, person-centered approach. I take immense pride in my students’ progress, and my mission is to provide the creative support you need to speak with confidence. My teaching style is inherently interactive and adaptive, ensuring our sessions move at the pace that feels right for you. Whether you thrive in a structured environment or prefer the natural flow of conversational practice, every lesson is tailored to your unique goals. My mission as a teacher is to create a space where you feel empowered to better yourself and transcend your current limits, providing the tools and confidence needed to reach your full communicative potential.

She's a very qualified person with many resources and skills. She's very committed to her students and adapts the class to the specific needs. She's a great communicator, she uses a standard language with a neutral accent, with a very rich vocabulary. She's a fantastic teacher.

This was my first lesson with Jessica Oakley. It was an amazing trial lesson where we spoke of various goals, interests, and future lesson plans. I have some experience with Afrikaans, but I still consider myself a beginner. She encouraged me to speak and practice Afrikaans. She was a fun, understanding, and patient teacher. I'm eager to book another lesson with her and improve my Afrikaans.
