Hello! My name is Farisa, but I go by Suzy—it's the nickname I've always loved. I was born and raised in the beautiful country of Suriname, located in South America, where Dutch is the main language spoken. Growing up there, Dutch became my native language, and it’s a part of who I am. I’m someone who radiates positivity and optimism, always looking for ways to uplift and support others. Whether it’s offering guidance, lending a listening ear, or simply being a comforting presence, I genuinely enjoy helping people through their challenges. My passion for languages goes beyond just speaking them—I love the connections they create.عني كمعلّم
I have a strong passion for teaching and currently engage in voluntary teaching work in Dutch, Spanish, and Sarnami Hindoestani, the latter being a language spoken in Suriname. Additionally, I am fluent in English, and as a learner of Chinese Mandarin myself, I fully understand the challenges of feeling nervous or apprehensive about making mistakes when learning a new language.
Rest assured, I am here to support you. Please feel comfortable making mistakes, as they are an essential part of the learning process. I am committed to patiently guiding you through any corrections and helping you improve your Dutch skills.

My lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive, with a strong emphasis on dialogues and role-playing. I believe that speaking is one of the most effective ways to learn a language, and I make sure to incorporate this into every lesson.
Understanding that each student is unique, I offer flexibility in teaching style. Whether you wish to focus on improving pronunciation, reading, writing, or listening skills, or if you prefer to explore a book, review a song or video, or simply share more about yourself and your interests, I am happy to accommodate your preferences. My lessons will always be tailored to your individual level and needs.

I am extremely grateful to have such an outstanding Dutch language teacher. I truly appreciate her teaching style, her patience, and her willingness to answer any questions. Her attentiveness and ability to identify and fill any gaps in knowledge are second to none. She creates a learning environment where I feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes, which is so important in the language learning process. Suzy heeft mij weer zelfvertrouwen gegeven in Sranantongo. Ik heb mij enorm vermaakt en veel geleerd in maar een paar minuten tijd. Raad het aan iedereen aan ongeacht waar je vandaan komt om op deze manier talen te leren! Ben hier enorm blij mee :))
