Hello! My name is Zakaria, I’m 28 years old and I’m from Oran, Algeria 🇩🇿.
I hold a Master’s degree in French Language and Culture and a DALF C2 diploma. French and Arabic are my mother tongues, and I also speak English, which allows me to teach beginners comfortably.
I’m passionate about arts, literature and graphic novels, and I’m a big fan of video games, cosplay and manga (TEAM One Piece 👒).

I have been teaching French on italki since October 2020, working with students worldwide. I specialize in communication and spoken French, adapting lessons to your level and goals—conversation, exams, or professional French. I teach in English or French, creating flexible, interactive, and engaging lessons. Zak is a wonderful teacher and a very kind person. I am very happy to have found him. The material he uses for the structured lessons are great! He is well prepared for every lesson and teaches a good balance of grammar, vocabulary, written and oral comprehension as well as speaking and writing. He gives homework to practice what we learnt in between lessons. He is extremely knowledgable and has a great way of explaining things. I feel my French progressing with him and he is very encouraging. I highly recommend him!

In lessons, he strikes an appropriate balance between getting the student to express themselves in the target language as much as possible while also ensuring that he provides scaffolding/support where required so as to build confidence. He is also very friendly and personable. I highly recommend lessons with Zak 👍
