Ciao, my name is Giulia, I'm 40 and I teach Italian since 10 years already. I come from southern Italy, from Puglia, where I'm currently living. Puglia is a region with a fascinating history marked by numerous intercultural influences such as Arab and Greek among many. I've been studying in Perugia at the University for Foreigners, where I get a degree in International Communication. During those studies, I had the opportunity to experience the Erasmus Project in Istanbul, Turkey, where I learned basic Turkish language. After my degree I moved to London, to improve my English, and then I decided to move to Barcelona, where I gained a Master Degree in Management of Immigration. As a teacher I will teach you to be confident avoiding the fear to making mistakes, which is a crucial component for learning faster. We will practice a lot through conversation which will help you to gain confidence in communicating and understanding Italian in typical “everyday scenarios”, and most important we will learn the Italian language using a cultural approach more than an academic one, without, however, neglecting the study of grammar and pronunciation. Our conversation will be setting in a relaxed environment, as if it was a talk with friends. During every lesson, we will travel among our “Bella Italia” discovering its music, flavours, customs, traditions, history and art, all the treasures that distinguish us from the rest of the world. Giulia is a fantastic and patient teacher. She gives plenty of gentle corrections, goes over grammar, and meets the student where they are at while still challenging them to improve. I really enjoy all of our conversations, not only for learning Italian, but having a good time talking with her as well.

Giulia is an incredible teacher! I've been working with her to learn and improve my Italian and am thrilled with my Italian journey so far. Giulia is incredibly patient and kind, works with you to help you really understand the ins and outs of the language, and will review topics and materials until you fully understand them. She's been very encouraging when I've made mistakes, which completely removes that fear and has allowed me to build up the confidence to try speaking, writing, and new ideas in general without worry. By creating that safe space to learn, I've always look forward to our lessons together. I highly recommend Giulia as a teacher if you're looking for someone who's very supportive, very patient, and creates a space where you're free to make mistakes in order to learn from them, without any pressure. I had a great intro call with Guila! She speaks clearly and slowly which makes practicing italian helpful to non-native speakers. I am looking forward to working with her more.

Giulia made some suggestions that made me consider changing my approach for the next phase. While I certainly need to converse as a mode of practice, she made it clear to me that a Personalized Lesson Plan is what I'm going to need. She definitely passed all of the "Vibe Checks", she's down to earth, funny, and has a very natural way of speaking. I plan taking lessons with her very soon.
