Soosun

I really appreciate the relaxed atmosphere Soosun provided while also challenging me to speak conversationally and get a sense for where I'm at. I'm still a beginner but it was a great session.

Just finished my last session with 샘 🥺 (FYI I decided to forgo learning because of personal time and commitment issue, and its definitely not because of 샘). I usually don’t leave review for each lesson but just want to leave the last one to summarize what I gained from 샘 throughout these 3+ years: 샘 is wonderful, she is not only funny but caring and patient and super flexible with my schedule. I went from not being able to hold conversation in Korean and not understanding Korean to being able to do so. My Korean friends’ parents all complimented my Korean and specifically on the pronunciation, which 샘 puts extra focus on. The lessons are very well organized and structural, she goes by workbooks and can give out homework if you want to. She also gives out tests, but homework and tests are truly optional. After all, it is based on your commitment level on learning the language, but 샘 always accommodates. I will miss you 샘, you rock!

After leveling out of the Korean classes offered at my local cultural center, I was uncertain what my language learning journey would look like. While I have been studying with other Korean teachers on italki, learning with structured textbooks fell to the wayside. Fortunately, I reached out to Soosun and had my first lesson today. We accomplished a lot within 30 minutes, so I'm looking forward to seeing what we can cover in an hour-long lesson together. We spent the first few minutes discussing my motivation for learning Korean, previous materials I've relied on to study the language, etc. Soosun quickly assessed my level through our conversation as well as a fun storytelling activity. From there, she offered her opinion on my level and what future lessons would look like. After class, she instantly followed up with homework that is helping me review what I have learned so far. I feel confident that under Soosun's guidance and care, I will be able to grow my Korean skills. 감사합니다!

Very in depth lessons, went into much detail with each lesson topic.

Very nice and friendly. Was easy to understand and thoroughly went over vocabulary and grammar points.

Have been learning Korean with Soosun 선생님 for a couple of months now. She goes at a pace that matches the student's ability so that its just right. Her added worksheets to supplement the Sogang syllabus are also really helpful. She has a cheerful disposition and most importantly for me, she speaks excellent English so she fully understands what I'm trying to ask. She was also very accommodating when I had to make last minute changes to my schedule, even though she was not obliged to. Highly recommended!
