Hi everyone, I'm Miri! 😊 I'm a native German speaker who lives in Leipzig, Germany. I've been teaching German for several years. First I started out with teaching friends and tandem partners from different countries, then I moved on to teaching German online. Currently I'm studying Cultural Studies and I'm completing a course for teaching English. I traveled a lot after finishing high school, including a five month Working Holiday stay in Australia. 🌍 Learning languages is one of my passions. I also use Italki as a student, so I know what it feels like to be a language student. 😊

As a teacher, I focus on speaking and building your confidence in using the language. My lessons are flexible and tailored to your interests, so whether it’s discussing a topic, analyzing a video, or listening to music, we’ll always work on improving your language skills and achieving your individual goals. We use a variety of materials like videos, music, or texts, making learning fun and engaging. Mirjam hace que aprender alemán se haga ameno. No solo es muy paciente, sino que además se esfuerza en buscar material variado e interesante para no caer en los mismos temas una y otra vez. Es tan simpática que hablar con ella se siente como juntarse con una amiga y por eso consigue que uno se relaje, pierda el miedo al idioma y no se obsesione con no cometer errores.

Like many language learners, I find speaking to be the most challenging aspect. Although I have only recently started lessons with Mirjam, I already enjoy her teaching approach. My English lesson with Mirjam was truly great!
She is a very kind, patient, and professional teacher who creates a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I felt comfortable speaking and wasn’t afraid to make mistakes. I always enjoy my lessons with Mirjam, she is such a nice and friendly person that the lessons feel like an interesting and fluent conversation with a friend. She is very patient and kind, so you are not afraid to make mistakes, which I think is a crucial aspect when learning a new language, especially in the early stages when you are not yet fluent.
I highly recommend her if you are looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to feel motivated and confident in speaking German!
