I was born in Yokohama and currently reside in Spain. It's been eight years since I began teaching Japanese here. Initially, I started with private lessons at a local language school, then moved on to small group sessions, and eventually began teaching online as well.
During my free time, I love immersing myself in nature—enjoying hikes or relaxing on the beach. I'm also passionate about cooking and have recently become fascinated with fermented foods, experimenting with various types. Additionally, I have a fondness for houseplants. Besides Japanese, I speak English and Spanish. While these languages are still a work in progress, I strive to improve daily.عني كمعلّم
I have lived in Spain since 2016 and have taught Japanese to Spanish students in several language schools in person to children and adults in small groups and one-to-one. During this time, I also completed a Advanced Japanese teacher training course at The World Japanese Language Center in Australia. I now teach online classes to groups and one-to-one.
I worked for a number of companies including a major Japanese electronics company past 20 years in Japan and through my working experience in Japan, I have also mastered honorifics and business manners, so if necessary, we can also practice business conversation such as Keigo together. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
The most important thing to know, is that our lessons will be fun, friendly, and enjoyable. I love to teach through conversation, I am the teacher but the lesson is based on you. I will always have a lesson planned, but I like to adapt the lesson as we go, for whatever suits you best on the day. I am currently learning Spanish and English so I understand the difficulty and embarrassment you can sometimes feel when trying to learn a language. You will never feel embarrassed with me. I encourage my students to feel as relaxed as possible, and try to build a good relationship between student and teacher. I’m sure we’ll have fun studying Japanese together!موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

It's always a pleasure to have Japanese lessons with Eriko-sensei.
She's calm and encouraging during the lessons, but never too strict, so there are plenty of moments to laugh about as well. Her explanations are clear (if I can't understand her explanation, we use a mix of Spanish and English), and there are lots of opportunities to practice as well. It's also important how she challenges me to be more creative with the grammar and choice of words. She doesn't strictly follow the textbook - she will improvise a new question or response to keep you on your feet, so you better pay attention!
A great teacher and it's a pleasure to learn with her.

I have been studying Japanese grammar and vocab on my own and supplementing my studies with almost daily conversations with Eriko-sensei for about one month. The topics range from relatively simple (such as family, food, etc.) to more complex (planning one's life, etc.). I have found this incredibly helpful because the conversations put the grammar and vocab in context, while also continually challenging me. I have been better at communicating in Japanese using my armamentarium rather than trying to translate from English to Japanese. In addition, Eriko-sensei is patient, personable, and funny; it is very much like conversing with a friend.

A kind and patient teacher who encourages me to always do my best, Eriko-sensei is one of a kind and often my lessons with her is one of the highlights of my week.

I have been studying Japanese for 5+ years and Eriko-sensei is very skilled at both spotting and filling in my gaps in grammar and vocabulary. She always takes the time to give me homework and feedback. I've been a teacher myself for more than ten years, so I'm a very picky student, but Eriko-sensei is clearly a skilled and dedicated teacher and I'm lucky to have found her. Thank you, Eriko-sensei!
