Hello everyone. My name is Elif. I am a Turkish teacher, and also an academic. I graduated from the department of Turkish Language and Literature at Yildiz Technical University. I did my master's in Old Turkic Languages. Now, I am a Ph.D. student in Modern Turkish. I have taught Turkish at different education centres, at universities abroad, and at Tömer in İstanbul for about 10 years. I was born and raised in İstanbul.

Every person's motivation, speed, and purpose in learning a language are different. Here it is important to understand the motivation of the student and what he wants to learn. A1, A2, and even B1 levels are very important; these are the levels where the grammar rules of the language and the basics of vocabulary are taught. It is an important point to learn the basic levels well before continuing to the B2, C1 and C2 levels. I believe that I can teach you Turkish in a pleasant and effective way with the education I have received and the different materials and systems I use. My lessons are generally take place in a way that covers the 5 basic skills of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar. For the writing skill, a predetermined topic is given as homework and is then checked before or during the lesson. Speaking skills can develop spontaneously during the lesson, or we can talk about a predetermined topic. For grammar, reading, and listening skills, I use Turkish teaching sets for foreigners prepared by experts in the field, such as the Istanbul Books, Yunus Emre Institute's Books, or TÖMER books. I usually try to enrich my lessons with videos, PowerPoints, documents that I have prepared, music, movies, and topics that we can talk about.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Elif is a great and very experienced teacher, she knows how to explain difficult concepts in a digestible way and her lessons are always purposeful & fun. She is extremely adaptable - we mix speaking, reading, grammar depending on what I struggle with at that day, and I always leave a class with a sense of accomplishment. I’ve had classes with quite a number of language teachers over the years, but Elif has a real knowledge of HOW to teach the language and this makes a huge difference when it comes to the quality of our lessons. Elif is a magnificent teacher with a deep understanding of language because of her academic background. She is also very kind and patient and my first lesson was a great pleasure for me. Now I am looking forward to having my next lessons.
