Hi everyone! I'm KC, a native English speaker from the Philippines. I am a corporate lawyer with extensive experience in dealing with and speaking to clients from all over the world. I have also worked as a business consultant and my job entailed assisting foreign nationals set up companies and start businesses in my country. I have been an English community tutor for around 7 years now- in both spoken and written English. During my spare time, I teach yoga, and I practice pilates and meditation. I am also currently taking Mandarin lessons here on italki. Certifications: Juris Doctor of Law Bachelor of Arts in Political Science 200hr Certified Yoga Teacher

عني كمعلّم

Since 2014, I have been assisting both foreign and local individuals in learning the English language. This includes teaching proper grammar and speaking with proper pronunciation. Through the years, I have learned to approach each student with an open mind as I have realized that every student responds to different ways of teaching. Whether it means starting from the basics of building vocabulary, understanding grammar and sentence construction or utilizing various books and articles - I do my best to understand my students' needs and adjust accordingly.

In order to build a good foundation from where to start the teaching process, I have found that the best method is to begin by having casual conversations about topics that the student is interested in. From there, I am able to assess the students' strengths and weaknesses. I then provide the students with assignments such as writing simple paragraphs about basic topics such as food, work, and their lifestyles. From here, we progress based on my further assessment, comments and tips. We shall then continue to practice having lengthier conversations as I incorporate quizzes into the study sessions to monitor the students' progress.

I was very impressed with Karen’s lesson. She is soooo patient and friendly. I felt like I was speaking to my best friend because she made me very comfortable to speak with her. I highly recommend her classes to anyone who wants to improve their English skills. It was a fun and interesting time and she was really supportive. She has a pretty sense of humor. I definitely recommend her. Her class gives me a positive feeling. Thank you Karen for this wonderful class. I will more and more lessons with you.
