ሰላም! 👋 I’m Nadir, an Amharic teacher passionate about making Ethiopia’s beautiful language accessible to you. With 4+ years of teaching and *3000+ lessons* on italki, I’ve crafted a unique system to help English speakers master Amharic quickly—through podcasts, stories, flashcards & interactive tools. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me listening to podcasts & crafting teaching content. Let’s turn your Amharic goals into reality.

I have been teaching Amharic for over 4 years, and during this time, I’ve had the privilege of helping students from diverse backgrounds in their journey of learning Amharic. I thrive on making learning simple, fun, and engaging. As a passionate Amharic teacher, there’s nothing more rewarding for me than watching my students progress. Every lesson is a journey, and I love being the guide who makes learning Amharic simple, fun, and deeply engaging. I put myself in my students’ shoes, crafting lessons that are not only easy to follow but also enjoyable and interactive. Amharic doesn't have enough quality learning resources for English speakers to use. This inspired me to create my own teaching system and materials, which have helped my students make quick progress & also enjoy learning Amharic.
In my classes, I use a wide variety of resources that I’ve developed over the years, including podcasts, videos, stories, worksheets, flashcards, and more. I also tailor each lesson to meet the unique needs and goals of my students. Together, we can design a personalized learning plan just for you! I offer classes for all levels. Nadir is an amazing teacher! In a little over a month, he helped me go from being unable to string a sentence together in Amharic to feeling comfortable making simple conversation and getting to an A2 level. He is very attuned to what will help the student learn quickly. I highly recommend Nadir!

This is my first lesson I had with Nadir while back in Ethiopia after about 8-9 months studying on a near-weekly basis with Nadir from the US. My family and friends in Ethiopia are shocked at how much better I am speaking and how much more I know now. I wouldn't be able to speak this well without the resources that Nadir provides and his fantastic teaching style!

Had another great lesson! I learned some cool advanced phrases in Amharic. Plan to try them out at my local Ethiopian coffee shop tomorrow.

Learning Amharic with Nadir has been an incredible experience. He structures lessons thoughtfully, seamlessly blending grammar, vocabulary, and conversation practice.

Great lesson! Nadir took our conversation and flipped it into a homework assignment, and study materials. Nadir is molding me into a natural Amharic speaker. It is an incredible journey indeed.
