Hi, I’m AKI – a certified Japanese teacher with over 10 years of experience.
I specialize in JLPT N1 and N2 reading strategy and exam preparation.
Many learners can understand Japanese,
but struggle with how to approach long reading passages efficiently.
In my lessons, you will learn:
- How to identify key sentences quickly
- How to analyze question patterns
- How to eliminate wrong answers logically
- How to manage time during the reading section
I have successfully guided students to pass both JLPT N2 and N1.

Japanese language teacherI've started teaching Japanese because my ex-husband was a foreigner. He came from Tunisia and his Japanese level was absolutely zero. But I taught him Japanese from writing hiragana and katakana. Now he's working for a company in Kobe.
I used to teach Japanese on italki around 2017. I was just a community tutor, but most of my students required me at higher level of Japanese grammar or vocabulary, not only a free-conversation. So I decided to get a certificate of teaching Japanese.

I always enjoy my lessons with Aki-sensei and feel like I learn a lot. She is cheerful and professional and the lessons are well-balanced between grammar and conversation. I would totally recommend her as a teacher !

We had a great lesson where I could train myself to explain design project I did during my job. It was a bit difficult since I don’t know enough vocabulary but Aki was here to help me and learnt me the good words to use for my presentation and how to present a design project during an interview !

Had a very productive lesson with Aki sensei today. Today we focused in all grammar points in Genki 1's Chapter 4.
There are times that I find it confusing, but Aki sensei is patient with me. And corrects my mistakes and give me some tips in how can I say it naturally.
Looking forward with my next lesson with her.

Aki-san is a wonderful classic teacher. I had a trial lesson and it was great. We practiced grammar topics that I had requested before, we also had a nice talk about daily life things. Very nice and professional atmosphere. Highly recommend the teacher.
