Yevgeniya is a fantastic teacher. She assigns great pre lesson assignments and then works hard the whole lesson. I worked hard for 90 minutes, and when it was done I didn’t want the lesson to end! She’s just wonderful.

Now we're at the heart of real Russian culture: Soviet cartoons, with the loveable Gena the crocodile and little Churubashka, all brought alive by Evgeniya, who watched these as a child. I feel very pleased to become part of these delightful characters!

What I love about my lessons with Evgeniya is that each week I am transported to a little corner of Russia. It's like travelling! This week the Moscow coffee culture was revealed, with Russian habits and peculiarities. There is no longer Starbucks there but there is a "Stars"! Some places do not allow you to work; in others you can work but - it's not quite the done thing. And who pays for coffee on a first date? Well - you do, of course! A brilliant and multifaceted, colourful lesson...

A light hearted and heart warming lesson, examining the differences between the English and Russian Winnie the Pooh (he's grumpy!). I do feel that these classes looking at Soviet cartoons really brings me close to the real culture of the country - all very affectionately presented by the delightful Evgeniya, who researches the subject meticulously and brings to it interesting materials.

Now this lesson, about the Moscow underground, really stands out - right at the top there together with the Russian trains. It is amazing how Evgeniya makes me feel I am actually visiting the Moscow Metro, with its history, beautiful architectural features and eccentricities (there are 2x Smolenskaya and Arbatskaya stations, all close together!) Our sessions with Evgeniya are very infromative and very warm, truly inspiring, especially hearing about the Moscow Metro from a real Muscovite!

To arrive with empty hands is a disgrace! Another fantastic lesson with Evgeniya, exploring the etiquette of visiting in Russia. Guests are supposed to bring something "for the table" and often leave, not only full, but with a container for later! All very competently navigated and explained by my wonderful teacher. If you thought you could get away with bringing a bottle of plonk - think again, когда ты ходишь в гостн!
