Hi everyone! My name is Purnima and I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I've worked as a university ESL instructor for more than 10 years and I have a Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and have been teaching on italki for three years . I've lived in America for more than four years, and I've also lived in India for 20 years, and in Thailand for 17 years. I teach English and Hindi online and I have students from all different parts of the world. I've taken the TOEIC test and I have a perfect score of 990.
I love Salsa and Bachata dancing, and I am a trained classical Indian dancer. I love travelling and have been to over thirty countries.عني كمعلّم
I'm a very kind and compassionate teacher and I always put students' needs before mine. I am a very good listener and a problem solver. I love getting to know each student, and finding out about their dreams and goals in life, so I can work around that and help them as much as I can to remain inspired and help them achieve their goals in any way that I can. I respect each student's identity and I appreciate the different personalities of students and the special things that they have to offer as an individual. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I'm a very open-minded teacher and my classes are student-centered. I give students a lot of time in class to share their opinions and ask me questions about the topic being taught. I always have short warm-up activities for each lesson so that the students get comfortable and are presented with a background of the topic that would be discussed in class. I like having a lot of communicative activities in my lessons such as role-plays, gap-fill exercises, debates, and discussions. I always check student's understanding of the lesson at different stages, and I make sure that I'm teaching at an appropriate pace.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Enjoyed my Hindi lesson with Purnima. She is really great at making Hindi approachable and speaks in a way that you can easily understand and interpret what is being said, which helps the learning process. I highly recommend her lessons!

After having quite a few lessons with Purnima, I am continuing to have a better understanding of the Hindi language. While traveling to India I was able to understand and communicate with the people there. I would highly recommend her for people looking to learn.

My trial lesson with Purnima-ji went by very quickly. I didn't even realize that 30 mins. had gone by. We talked about many topics. Purnima-ji is engaging and encouraging. I recommend her if you are curious of her teachings.
