Hi, I’m Liz! I’m from the UK and languages have always been a big part of my life. I grew up in Spain, studied Applied Languages at Portsmouth University (including a year in Wuhan, China), and earned my TESOL certificate. I speak Spanish like a native, conversational Chinese (HSK4), and a little Bulgarian. Living in different countries has given me firsthand experience of what it’s like to sound “foreign” in another language—and how powerful it feels when your pronunciation finally clicks.
Now based in Bansko, Bulgaria, I combine my love of languages with my passion for helping learners sound clearer, more confident, and more English.عني كمعلّم
I specialize in pronunciation and accent training. My goal is simple: to help you sound less like a foreigner speaking English and more natural and native. I’ve worked with students from China, Korea, Russia, and across Europe, each with their own pronunciation challenges. I identify the most common errors for your native language and how they affect your English. By listening closely to the way you speak, I can pinpoint areas to adjust and explain exactly how to sound more British. My lessons are practical, hands-on, and focused on speaking clarity. We’ll work on the sounds that matter most for your accent, drilling them in a natural way through conversation and targeted exercises. This might mean practicing word endings, vowel length, stress patterns, or intonation—always connected to real-life English, not just isolated drills.

TESOL 12O hours - Trinity College London - 2015I carried out this qualification along side my degree. I completed 120 hours of teaching at Portsmouth community college, teaching adults who were non-native speakers of English and had recently moved to the UK. Classes were all conducted in person as well as at Portsmouth University where I taught the foreign exchange students from China.

It's a fantastic lesson! I learned plenty of new expressions from Liz. She is very patient, when I didn't understand the meaning of a word, she explained it clearly! It's very useful!

Lizzie is absolutely amazing! Why isn't it possible to give more than 5 stars :)
What I liked most is that she knows how to teach. It's one thing when the teacher knows the language well, but it's equally or even more important to know how to teach. I've been looking for the right teacher for a long time, and all that searching paid off)
