Hi, I’m Tiya! A CELTA-certified English teacher specializing in IELTS preparation and Cambridge exams (KYE, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE). My journey began teaching in Cambodia, and now I help students worldwide achieve their language goals online. With a background as a cruise photographer, I’ve worked with people from 60+ countries—giving me a deep understanding of diverse accents and learning needs. Whether you’re preparing for an exam or want fluent, confident English, I’ll tailor lessons to your success. When not teaching, I’m exploring nature or lost in a book.عني كمعلّم
I'm a native English speaker and I hold a CELTA certification from Cambridge. Although teaching was not my first profession, after completing my CELTA I discovered I loved teaching English. My experience is in A2 to C2 general English, intermediate business English, IELTS preparation and Cambridge English examination courses. I have taught students from 8 years old to adults but my TESOL training specialised in teaching adult learners, which is really my passion. I always try to make my students feel as comfortable as possible so they never feel embarrassed or afraid to make mistakes. CELTA (Grade B) - Durban Language Centre - 2021The CELTA is a certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages. It enables me to work as a professional English second/foreign language teacher. The CELTA is a 120 hour (in class) TESOL courses including 6 hours of teaching practice. It taught me to write lessons effectively, teach learners at different proficiency levels, monitor and manage lessons, evaluate leaners and cater to their individual learning needs and create lesson material.

Teaching English Online - FutureLearn and Cambridge Assessment English - 2020This is a 20 hour online course through Cambridge Assessment English on FutureLearn. I have a paid certificate of achievement for this course. It enabled me to teach English online by teaching me to integrate my in class skills to an online environment, how to adjust material to be used effectively online, how to use platforms such as Zoom and teaching aids such as Miro virtual white board as well as the flip class technique.

Full-time English TeacherAs a teacher for Campus UK I taught both in class and online. I have around 12 months of online teaching experience. I have experience teaching learners from 8 years old to adults in both large group and one-to-one classes. There I taught students from Cambodia, Laos and China. I have used a range of teaching course books such as Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Empower as well as had the freedom to adjust and create material as I saw fit.
