Patient and passionate teacher of Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian and Montenegrin languages I have a lot of experience in translation of different kinds of texts, theory, poetry, movies, simultaneous translation from and to English, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian language. As an artist and cultural activist I led numerous educational workshops and lectured at different kinds of institutions, schools, universities, galleries, museums, so I have extensive experience at various teaching methods for learners of different backgrounds and ages. As you probably already know, until Yugoslav wars in the 90s, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian were taught in schools as one language, Serbo-Croatian. So, these 3 languages share the same grammar. They differ only in a small number of words.

Certified TEFL & TESOL teacher ; English and Serbian teacher since 2013 😊 I try to let students talk as much as possible because speaking practice is what most people need. I create a google document for each student and type everything that we do/say during the class. I ask a lot of questions and wait patiently until you answer - after that I provide grammar and pronunciation corrections and suggest different words you could have used and type it all in the document. You can access it anytime, add your own words or translations and do your homework there, it's like a virtual notebook.

Hello everybody. My name is Ivana. I am from Serbia. I know it might be "not so much attractive" to hear that someone is from Serbia or another Balkan country but the best thing about this is that I can teach you serbian, croatian, bosnian, montenegrian:-). I would say these languages are all the same with small regional differences and it is a kind of political issue that we all call it differently. I know that many people prefer native speakers, but it can sometimes be tricky. The native speakers are good teachers only if they are foreign langauge teachers, believe me. I also teach latin and italian so I think I could be a good choice for you:-)

My targets are everyone who wants to learn English, Bosnian and Serbian languages. I am patient and willing to work with beginners who need to learn language from scratch, or with advanced level students who just need refinement of their skills. I like an effective way of communication with my students where I learn about their language levels and preferences before we start with a lesson which helps me to prepare accordingly.
