Jan ist der perfekte Lehrer. Immer pünktlich, die Ruhe in Person und er kann gut mit meiner tiefen Frustschwelle umgehen. Der Unterricht ist immer ein guter Mix aus kleinen Dialogen, Besprechung von Fragen und Vokabular, Aussprachetraining, Einheiten aus Lehrmitteln und freien Themen. Sein Deutsch ist wirklich ausserordentlich gut, so kann ich auch mal erklären, was ich eigentlich sagen wollte, wenn ein von mir zusammengebastelter Satz mal unverständlich ist. Meine Syntax ist teilweise an den Haaren herbeigezogen und er checkt trotzdem was ich sagen wollte. Beim Fremdsprachen lernen habe ich eine recht hohe Hemmschwelle einfach zu sprechen und sätze auszuprobieren. Bei Jan habe ich das mittlerweile verloren und kann hemmungslos üben. Ich kann Jan nur wärmstens empfehlen: immer höflich, nett, aufmerksam, kompetent und motivierend. Sein Unterricht strukturiert, lehrreich und interessant.

今天我们复习了语法和（词（？））。Today, we reviewed grammar and vocabulary. Yasmine was very patient with me when I had forgotten the pronunciation of some characters. First, she would give me a hint; if I still couldn't remember it, she would tell me the word again and and the meaning. I appreciate her calm and patient way of teaching me, because helps me gain the confidence/motivation to practice, instead of avoiding it due to fear of making mistakes. 谢谢老师。

I've studied with Dan regularly for five years and I recommend him for all levels of learners! It can be difficult to find a reliable teacher on italki, but he has been very reliable for a long time. He provides the structure and the materials. We follow the HSK textbooks and he is very flexible, working at whatever pace suits you, slowing down when something needs more time. He also has deep knowledge of Chinese culture and history, which really helps put things into context and is always fun to learn about. So much of what I know about China comes from Dan. He is well-prepared and very experienced.

I’ve been learning Mandarin with Nene for the past five months, and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my speaking skills. She always encourages me to think and express myself in Mandarin. Another fantastic lesson with Pei Laoshi. Pei packed a surprising amount of learnable content into a one hour beginner lesson, meaning I came out with the ability to potentially say quite a lot! Super well-paced lesson with the right amount of challenge! 10/10!

I've taken a few reading and writing enhancement lessons with Jing, and I am amazed at the time and effort she puts into preparing each lesson. I already feel I've made some progress as she can pinpoint the exact issues I have with my Chinese so I can improve.

I highly recommend Teacher Qingxi! I'm studying Chinese at a language academy in Korea, and he's an outstanding teacher. He knows exactly how to help complete beginners build confidence in speaking Chinese. Every lesson feels like a high-quality private tutoring session. My Chinese has improved tremendously since I started learning with him. He's incredibly patient, encouraging, and truly cares about his students. I can't recommend him enough!

Yue Yue is a consummate professional. From role playing exercises to homework feedback is constant and very useful. Great teacher. Great human. My Chinese has improved leaps and bounds and I'm so grateful. Definitely give her a try if you want to start speaking Chinese better.

I have been with Zoe Z. for 10 months and love her classes. I am an older student (~60) learning my first tonal language for a big change in my occupation to include a relocation to China so my stress level is quite high. Zoe is patient and kind. She always comes to class well prepared and remains fully engaged and focused. At the risk of sounding trite, she makes learning fun. She tailors the class to my specific needs and goals which I appreciate as I know that means extra work for her.
