As a teacher I am patient, open minded, willing to help and communicative.

I have two University degrees and I have been teaching finnish and swedish both for beginners and business people. I have also worked as a translator. The most challenging mission was in Monaco, where very talented multilingual people wanted to learn swedish and finnish and learn it fast, because they did business with Scandinavian countries.

As a teacher I am patient and interested in the students' progress. I am passionate about teaching Finnish and wish to make language learning interesting and fun! Notice: I do not have particular experience in teaching children. If you wish to book a lesson for your child, please contact me beforehand.

El finlandés tiene fama de ser un idioma difícil, pero yo creo que el problema no es la dificultad sino que tiene una lógica diferente a la del español o el inglés. Por eso, al principio hay que sumergirse en la estructura del idioma (qué es super interesante! y que además explica un poco la forma de ver el mundo de los finlandeses). (Ahora) esto no quiere decir que vamos a dejar la práctica de lado. Vamos a utilizar el idioma desde la primera clase.

Contemporary language teacher helping learners to discover their natural spoken Finnish since 2020 As a teacher I try to bring to the table as much positive energy as possible, I am empathetic, supportive and happy. I ask a lot of questions and I teach in a very personal way. As a student myself, I know that sometimes the most difficult part of language learning is to simply keep it up. That is why in my classes you will be invited to analyse and track your own learning, and we ´ ll discuss some of the difficulties you may be facing. Also you will be invited to form strategies and goals to overcome them. I see learning as a team sport, and by joining our powers we will be able to exhilarate your language learning.

Let's talk, read and write honest stuff about Finland - with a native Finnish teacher After years of studying all these different languages, I understand the pain of learning new grammar, and the frustration when trying to express yourself without having the right words. Instead of drowning students in new rules of the language or gluing their noses into to the books.. There are so many comfortable ways and tricks to learn, always something for someone! Besides over a decade of teaching ballet, I have been teaching in primary school back in Finland, and since last year in alternative education here in New Zealand. After almost two years on the other side of the world, it is time to honour my roots and have my share in keeping Finnish language alive!

Having climbed the “mountain of fluency” in two foreign languages, I know exactly how hard and frustrating the journey can be, but I also know how rewarding and satisfying finally making it to the top is. To me, wrapping your head around a completely new way of thinking that often comes with achieving fluency in a language is one of the best feelings I know, and I want to share it with you. As someone with a strong background in science, my specialty is scientific communication and technical writing. I also think my experience in grappling with abstract scientific concepts has taught me to explain grammatical concepts and semantic nuances in a concise and easily understandable way.

Helpful and I will keep you accountable to make a progress at a steady pace. I have had good practical language learning results with my students. As a teaching language, I use Finnish as much as possible.

Becoming teacher in Swedish as a second language with 4 years' sub teacher experience As a teacher I am engaging and caring. I care about students' needs and I do my best in order to help students to reach their goals. A good teacher gives room for the student to speak and to think, and that is what I aim to do when teaching. I get exited every time I can successfully learn a student something new and see a development, it is very rewarding to me. My strengths are my own background as language learner since I know how one can learn a language depending on whether it is supposed to be used in social contexts or at school in more academic situations.
