The more you do it, the more naturally you'll learn to express yourself in any language! Listening to native-level speech is also essential—especially the real, everyday language that people actually use. In Finnish, for instance, spoken language can be quite different from the formal version. I'm an empathetic and patient teacher, and I can easily adjust my speaking pace and style to suit any level. My lessons are relaxed and supportive, creating a safe space for learning. I'm always happy to tailor the lessons to each student's individual needs.

As soon as you know three words, I’ll ask you to put them into a sentence. With me you won’t be ‘taught’ per se, you will be invited to learn by doing, to try things out, and to accumulate competence upon what you already know. My students quickly learn to ask me ‘can I say…? (voinks mä sanoa…?)’ followed by something they have just formulated. Before long, they start to create perfectly applicable and natural sounding Finnish sentences (which can often be short and make absolutely no sense when translated to English) by applying Finnish the same way Finns do.

I have two University degrees and I have been teaching finnish and swedish both for beginners and business people. I have also worked as a translator. The most challenging mission was in Monaco, where very talented multilingual people wanted to learn swedish and finnish and learn it fast, because they did business with Scandinavian countries.

Finnish language tutor with a passion for teaching I am currently studying to become a certified class teacher (I can teach all subjects in primary school for children aged 7-12) and Russian language teacher for all ages. However, my study program also focuses heavily on helping students with Finnish as a second language. I have taught children, teens and adults in traineeships as part of my studies.
