In my final thesis I explored how cultural differences are manifested in languages and how they are mistakingly carried into target languages by learners. I have worked as a language teacher on almost all levels (except with toddlers and children). I have taught groups and individuals at university and school level as well as in business environments. Many of my current clients are from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Furthermore, I love languages and constantly try new methods for my own language learning to put me in the shoes of the learner.

Además de eso he dado clases informales a varias personas latinoamericanas que tenían interés en el idioma y la cultura. Teaching (and language learning) is who I am. In university, many of my friends were international students. I took pride in my ability to adapt my English to the appropriate level as they progressed. I was learning German, and this really helped me see things from their perspective. Now I am well-known in the Esperanto community - a regular teacher-in-residence at NASK and other events. In 1988 I became a tutor in a Free Esperanto Course (which I now administer), and when I left my IT career in 2016, I started teaching once a week at the local ESOL Association, as well as tutoring on line and in person. Teaching different languages in these situations has given me a unique perspective.

My professional experience before italki was focused mainly on exam preparation both in English (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity) and German (Goethe Institut, telc) and included - apart from the usual group and individual, intensive and regular courses - level-testing and organising mock exams. For several years, I also worked as an English examiner and corrector at one of the universities in Spain. I hold a C2 Certificate in Spanish (DELE).

Since 2010, I have been teaching German and English offline, and since 2016, I have also gained experience teaching online.
