The Calabar Carnival, often referred to as "Africa's Biggest Street Party," is one of the most spectacular and colorful events in Nigeria. Held annually in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, the carnival takes place throughout December, culminating in a grand parade on Christmas and New Year's Eve. Highlights of the Calabar Carnival: 1. Cultural Showcase: The carnival celebrates Nigeria's rich cultural diversity through music, dance, costumes, and performances. Participants wear elaborate, vibrant costumes adorned with feathers, beads, and sequins. 2. Street Parades: Different "bands" compete in dance and costume parades, with each band telling a unique story based on the year's theme. Popular bands include Seagull, Passion 4, Freedom, and Bayside. 3. Music and Entertainment: The carnival features live performances from local and international artists, creating a festive atmosphere with Afrobeat, reggae, highlife, and more. 4. Tourism Boost: The carnival attracts tourists from around the world, who come to enjoy the lively atmosphere and explore Cross River State's beautiful landmarks, such as the Obudu Mountain Resort and the Agbokim Waterfalls. The Calabar Carnival is more than a celebration—it's a platform for uniting people, promoting tourism, and showcasing the beauty of Nigerian culture to the world.

According to my experiences, children tend to be the people who their parents are during their childhood. If their parents are positive and diligent, they are probably thriving. On the other hand, children might be undisciplined with two nagative and lazy parents. We always say that parents are the first teachers in each child's whole life. They rely on their parents and want to be better with their parents' help. This is just like a little tree which needs to be taken good care of. When it grows up to be a big tree, it can stand up in storms. As for parents, we also need to give them a good condition to grow up. A good condition doesn't consist of money, big house and cars. It's a good atmosphere with a pair of parents who try their best to change themsleves to be better. If they become better, there is no doubt that their children can be better , too. So, I think that parents are the best gift for their children, if they are good enough!

If you visit Slovakia, there are a few dishes that you absolutely must try to experience the rich and hearty flavors of Slovak cuisine. First and foremost, you have to try bryndzové halušky. It’s the national dish here, made from soft potato dumplings that are covered in bryndza (a creamy and tangy sheep cheese) and sprinkled with crispy bacon bits. It’s rich, comforting, and full of flavor, and it perfectly represents the heartiness of Slovak food. It’s often served as a main dish, but you can also find it in many Slovak restaurants as a traditional treat. Another dish that’s a true Slovak classic is kapustnica, a savory sauerkraut soup. It’s made with smoked meats like sausage and ham, along with vegetables and spices, and sometimes even a bit of dried mushrooms. It’s perfect for colder months and is often enjoyed during Christmas time, though you’ll find it year-round. For dessert, you should try trdelník, a sweet pastry that’s famous in Slovakia, especially at festivals and markets. It’s made by wrapping dough around a rod, then baking it until golden and crispy. It’s rolled in sugar and nuts and sometimes filled with ice cream or chocolate – it’s a true treat for your taste buds. Also, don’t miss out on lokše, which are thin potato pancakes often served with duck or goose, or sometimes filled with jam or poppy seeds for a sweeter version.
