"Be Perfect" | "You Should Smile More" | "That's Not What It Means To Be A Woman" | "Be Quiet, You're Being Bossy" Calling ALL Women and those who identify as Women*. WELCOME. This space is for us. Society places unrealistic and unachievable expectations on our shoulders. These beliefs can also make it harder for us in the classroom. We're self-conscious that we're not a perfect speaker, so we don't speak much. When we do speak we feel everyone is judging us. We freeze. We panic. We forget we even know English. You're not alone. Many of us face this challenge but don't realize what it is. This is an open, Casual Conversation class for Women and those who identify as Women*. Any topic is open for discussion. Ideas, Institutions, and Society in general are fair game for criticism, however, we will NOT be insulting individuals or groups. For example, Patriarchy, Racism, and Bigotry are fair game but Uncle Ted is not. Live Captions will be enabled for this class. Each student may choose to use them or turn them off. Any person not abiding by the Safe Space Rules listed above will be removed immediately and banned from future classes. *Not sure if you would feel comfortable in this class?
