In this course we will read the brilliant '4000 Weeks' by Oliver Burkeman. We will read the book over 8 lessons. We will discuss the issues and ideas raised in the book.
This course is perfect for anyone who is looking for a new and exciting way to learn English while contemplating our relationship with time! This book is a great choice if you are an advanced learner and want to build your vocabulary. The book is suitable for anyone with C1 (Advanced) level of English.
***IMPORTANT - It is necessary to buy or download your own copy of the book and you will be asked to read a few chapters each week BEFORE the lesson***
The course includes:
- Interactive and communicate weekly lessons
- Homework assignments
- Vocabulary exercises
- Extra materials related to the book (videos, interesting articles etc.)
- Online student community where you can ask questions and discuss important ideas
In the lessons we will:
1. Hold deep and meaningful conversations based around the ideas in the book
2. Study useful vocabulary and collocations in context
3. Try to implement the ideas in the book in our own lives
How It Works:
READ: You read the appropriate chapters of the book BEFORE the lesson
THINK: Each week there are questions about each chapter for you to think about and make notes on.
SPEAK: Join the lesson and discuss the chapters that we have read.
DO HOMEWORK: There is also an optional writing task and vocabulary exercises to complete each week.
SHARE: Join our online community for interesting videos and extra materials related to the book.
