El Mohán es una de las leyendas más temidas y conocidas en las zonas ribereñas de Colombia, especialmente cerca del río Magdalena. Se dice que es un ser mitológico, mitad hombre y mitad monstruo, con una gran barba y ojos brillantes como brasas. Vive en cuevas cerca de los ríos, donde guarda tesoros escondidos.

El Mohán es conocido por ser un ser muy celoso y caprichoso. A menudo asusta a los pescadores, hundiendo sus canoas o enredando sus redes de pesca. También es famoso por robar mujeres jóvenes y hermosas para llevarlas a su cueva, donde las retiene por un tiempo antes de liberarlas.

A pesar de su naturaleza temible, algunas versiones cuentan que si logras hacerle una ofrenda adecuada, como tabaco o aguardiente, puede volverse más amigable y ayudarte a encontrar oro o protegerte en el río.
