“株” 字由 “木” 和 “朱” 组成，甲骨文的“朱”是在树干中间加上一点，表示砍树时应从此处砍下，因此 “朱”的本意就是砍树，“株”就表示树木被砍后剩下的树桩。

Halloween short story

17-year-old Scarlet leaves home to find shelter at her uncle's house. But her uncle seems to be hiding something. Every night he disappears into the forest, and so one day, Scarlet decides to follow him. Along the way, she meets a guy named Ruben, who says he's a spy.
