El león y el ratón

Había una vez un león que estaba durmiendo. Un ratón comenzó a correr sobre su cuerpo y lo despertó. El león, enfadado, atrapó al ratón con su gran garra. El ratón le suplicó al león que lo dejara ir, prometiéndole que algún día le devolvería el favor. El león, riéndose, lo dejó ir. Más tarde, el león fue atrapado en una red por unos cazadores. El ratón escuchó sus rugidos de ayuda y corrió para liberarlo, royendo la cuerda de la red. El león comprendió entonces que incluso los más pequeños pueden ayudar a los más grandes.

Mr. Fat wakes up from a deep and enjoyable sleep. He rolls out of bed, leaving behind him a mattress covered with money. He walks over to his bedroom mirror and wipes oil off his face. 

“You are looking very handsome today,” says Mr. Fat, speaking to himself. “You are doing such a great job at ruling Planet Meat. Everyone loves and respects you. This planet is so lucky to have you.” 

Looking at his delicious meat hamburger, Mr. Fat says “Oh my, I’m starving. I can’t wait for breakfast. I’m going to eat my own meaty, juicy body! Hah!” 

Mr. Fat lives in a giant house made of meat, vegetables and potato chips. He is the boss of the whole meat planet. He became the boss because he has the biggest, toughest belly. Whenever someone tried to punch Mr. Fat, meat flew out of his belly and attacked his opponent. 

The fat hamburger walks over to the window. He opens his lettuce curtains and he almost faints in shock.  

“OH MY GOD!” screams Mr. Fat. He can’t believe what he’s seeing. “It’s raining tomato sauce! Yuuuuk!!”

我第一次看到这句话的时候，非常震撼。因为我们现代人，大部分都已经习惯了在各种场合与人争一个高低。不管是争夺有限的物质，还是在意见和他人不一样的时候争强好胜，都是古代圣贤最不会做的事情。老子不愧是圣人，只有不与人争，才能保持清静的心，保持一种自在和自由。这其实是传统中国文化的核心部分。

Today's phrase comes from Lao Tzu, from the wisdom of Taoism. 

The highly respected men don’t argue and contest, the lowly respected men like to argue and contest. It means that people with superior wisdom do not compete or fight, and only least intelligent people compete with others all the time.

The first time I saw this sentence, it was a shock. Because most of us modern people have been used to competing with people on various occasions. Whether it is competing for limited material resources, or competing to win when opinions differ, these are the last things that ancient sages do. Only by not fighting with others can we maintain a quiet mind and keep our hearts truly free and at ease. This is actually a core part of traditional Chinese wisdom.

En los campos de batalla, los reportajes sobre los héroes caídos han tardado en recibir el reconocimiento de los pueblos. La historia, en ocasiones tarda y detiene por generaciones la gloria y el reconocimiento que merecen los héroes más valerosos. En México, los personajes más destacados de la Revolución Mexicana tardaron casi cuarenta años en recibir su reconocimiento como héroes por el Congreso de la Unión. Este no fue el caso del joven ferrocarrilero Jesús García Corona. No existe otro héroe civil en la historia de México que haya recibido tan grandes reconocimientos, muestras de aprecio y agradecimiento con tanta premura como el héroe de Nacozari. Solo unas horas habían transcurrido desde su fallecimiento y ya se entonaban las notas marciales de una admirable marcha compuesta expresamente a su memoria. No transcurrió un solo día sin que el héroe Jesús García fuese proclamado como benefactor de la humanidad. La misma tarde de los acontecimientos, el gobernador del estado de Sonora hacía reconocimiento del gran gesto heroico del joven ferrocarrilero. Al día siguiente, los diarios nacionales e internacionales proclamaban el heroísmo del héroe Jesús García Corona.
José Jesús García Corona nace un 2 de noviembre de 1881 en la ciudad de Hermosillo, Sonora. Hijo del Sr. Francisco García Pino y la Sra. Rosa Corona de García; fueron sus hermanos Trinidad, Ángela, Artemisa, Rosa, Francisco, Manuel y Miguel. En 1898, la familia decide trasladarse a Nacozari, lugar que, a finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, se encontraba en plena efervescencia minera y ferroviaria. Fue en este pueblo minero donde logró consolidarse como buen empleado a la corta edad de 17 años. Su buen desempeño en la empresa minera le permitió ocupar el cargo de maquinista de locomotoras a la edad de 20 años.
