Carlos: ¡Uf, Sofía! Ese examen de inglés estuvo dificilísimo.

Sofía: ¡Lo sé! Hubo partes que no entendí nada.

Carlos: La parte de gramática me mató… ¿Qué pusiste en la pregunta del present perfect?

Sofía: Creo que puse "I have never been to London"… ¿Y tú?

Carlos: ¡Yo también! Bueno, al menos esa creo que la saqué bien.

Sofía: ¿Y la parte del listening? ¡Fue horrible! Hablaban rapidísimo.

Carlos: ¡Sí! Apenas entendí algunas palabras.

Sofía: ¿Qué respondiste en la pregunta sobre el vuelo cancelado?

Carlos: Puse que la aerolínea ofreció un hotel gratis, pero no estoy seguro.

Sofía: ¡Eso puse yo también! Espero que sea correcto.

Carlos: La peor parte fue la redacción. Nos pidieron escribir 150 palabras.

Sofía: ¡Sí! Y justo sobre un tema que no esperaba: "Ventajas y desventajas de vivir en otro país".

Carlos: Yo escribí sobre la cultura y el idioma. ¿Y tú?

Sofía: Sobre el trabajo y la adaptación. Espero que mi vocabulario haya sido correcto.

Carlos: Seguro sí. Aunque yo tuve que inventarme palabras… ¡ojalá el profesor no se dé cuenta!

Sofía: ¡Jajaja! Bueno, ahora solo queda esperar los resultados.

Carlos: Sí… ¿Tienes esperanza de aprobar?

Sofía: ¡Espero que sí! Pero si no, nos tocará estudiar más para la próxima.

Carlos: ¡Definitivamente! Y esta vez practicaremos más el listening.

Sofía: ¡Sí! Porque si vuelven a hablar tan rápido, estoy perdida.

Meditation - Setting your mind to win!

Have you ever experience an 'Alpha Level Meditation' before?

Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta brainwaves are different frequencies of electrical activity in your brain. They’re associated with different states of consciousness and mental activity. 

Think of them as different gears in a machine—each frequency corresponds to a different function or mental state.

Beta Waves (13-38 Hz): These are the fastest brainwaves, and you typically experience them when you’re alert, focused, and actively thinking

Alpha Waves (8-12 Hz): These are slower than beta waves, and you often experience them when you’re relaxed but still awake, like when you’re meditating or daydreaming peacefully. 

Theta Waves (4-7 Hz): These waves are slower than alpha waves and are associated with deep relaxation, light sleep, and a state of being very at ease.

Delta Waves (0.5-3 Hz): These are the slowest brainwaves and are primarily associated with deep sleep. You’re usually not consciously aware of much when these are dominant.


Your subconscious mind is programmed easily on the 'Alpha' level. Therefore, this type of meditation / relaxation / programming is going to influence your state / thinking much faster.

Use it daily if you can and in 30 days you'll be amazed at the result that you can achieve!

Meditation - Setting your mind to win!

A Chinese company claims it has built an electric vehicle battery that charges faster than any other.

The company, called Zeekr, says the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes and 30 seconds — but only when the car is plugged into one of the company's super-fast charging stations.

It calls this a new charging speed record, although it can be hard to compare the charging speeds of different vehicles because some charging stations do not work as fast as others.

But, for example, Tesla's Model 3 can be charged to about half its range in 15 minutes.

A number of other EVs can boost their range by almost 200 kilometers with a 10-minute charge.

But Zeekr says that in 10-and-a-half minutes its new battery could be charged enough to boost a vehicle's range by about 500 kilometers.

The first of its cars to include the new battery is the 2025 Zeekr 007, which is on sale in China now.

Zeekr says it has already opened more than 500 of its super-fast charging stations in China, and plans to have 10,000 in 2026.

Chinese companies have been busy making EVs, offering customers a large amount of choice — something that people in some other countries, like the US, have been frustrated by.

As well as operating in China, Zeekr began selling its vehicles in the Netherlands and Sweden last year.

It plans to begin operating in Singapore by the end of 2024, and to open showrooms in Japan and South Korea in 2025.

今回も慣用句シリーズでいきます。

今日は肩を使った慣用句です。
今日も3つ話します。

① 肩の荷が下りる ーかたのにがおりる
これは、責任などから解放されて、気持ちが楽になる、という意味です。
例えば、
ーこの大役が終わって肩の荷が下りた。
ーこの仕事をやめて、ようやく肩の荷が下りた。
などと使います。


② 肩を落とす ーかたをおとす
これは、がっかりすること、を指す意味です。
例えば、
ー大切な試験に落ちた彼は、大きく肩を落とした。
ー彼はずっと好きだった彼女に振られ、大きく肩を落とした。
などと使います。

③ 肩を持つ ーかたをもつ
これは、対立している人の一方の味方をすること、などの意味です。
例えば、
ーそうやっていつもあの人の肩を持って！とか、
ーあの部長はいつも彼の肩を持つよね。
とか、言います。



肩は責任、期待のようなイメージとして捉えられていることが多いです。他の国ではどうなんでしょうか。気になりますね。
