江崎 修一（えざき しゅういち）：ベテラン編集者。璃子の担当。仕事を心から楽しむが、締切前は厳しい。

【シーン】

氷室璃子の書斎。
窓の外では夕暮れの光が沈み、部屋は静寂に包まれている。机の上には未完成の原稿が山のように積まれている。

江崎「……ずいぶん静かですね、先生。まるで時間が止まっているみたいだ。」

氷室「言葉が降りてこないのです。静寂こそが今の私に必要なものです。」

江崎「締め切りまで、あと三日。出版社としては進捗報告を求めざるを得ません。『静寂』だけでは本は出せませんよ。」

氷室「焦るべからず、江崎さん。急いては言葉が死ぬ。美しいものを生み出すには、沈黙すら必要なのです。」

江崎「しかし、先生の作品を待っている読者がどれほどいるか……その期待に応えるべく、私も日々奔走しているのです。」

氷室（少し微笑む）「あなたの努力には感謝にたえません。でも、私はまだ、言葉の“結び”に至っていないのです。」

江崎「“結び”に至らず、ですか。なるほど……。ですが先生、このままでは次の特集号に間に合いません。編集部としては、今回をもって新しい連載を打ち出す予定もありまして。」

氷室「それは脅しのつもりかしら？」

江崎「いえ、現実です。先生の筆が止まるなら、次の世代にバトンを渡すのも仕事のうちですから。」

氷室（しばし沈黙し、机に視線を落とす）
「……あなたは、ほんとうに楽しそうに言うのね。」

江崎「ええ、先生の作品が好きだからです。だからこそ、私は何としても完成させたい。先生の言葉が、また世に響く瞬間を見たいんです。」

氷室「……あなたのその情熱、まことに感謝にたえません。では、もう少しだけ筆を取ってみましょうか。」

江崎（微笑んで）「そのお言葉をもって、今日は引き下がりましょう。」

（江崎が静かに頭を下げ、扉を閉める。残された璃子がペンを手に取る音が響く。）

・お昼には31度になる予定
・東京だと37度になるみたい
・37度は想像できない。 経験したことがない。皆さんの国はどうですか？

・富良野と美瑛に行った
・富良野は知ってますか？ とてもきれいな景色が見える場所です。
・今月7月はとてもお花がきれいな季節
・実は、7月の富良野に行ったことがない。
・バスで富良野に行った
・札幌から富良野まで、バスで約2時間くらい
・朝の7時45分に出発
・そんなに暑くなくて、お昼で28度くらい
・だけど、暑いのに慣れていないので、とても暑かった。

・まず、富良野にある「ファーム富田/ふぁーむとみた」という場所に行った。
・お花畑がとてもきれいな場所
・ラベンダーというお花がとてもきれい
・ 赤や黄色や白の花がたくさん咲いていた
・ たくさんの観光の人も来てた
・韓国の人が多かったと思う

・次に、美瑛にある「青い池」という池に行った
・名前の通り、青く見えるということで有名
・写真では見たことはある
・実際見るととてもきれいだった
 ・青いというよりは、 水色。
・水色は青より薄い色
 ・とても感動した
・その日によって色が変わるということなので、また見に行きたいなと思った。

・札幌に着いたのは大体夕方の6時くらい
・バスにずっと揺られていたのでちょっと疲れた
・楽しい1日だった

・6月の美瑛
