šŸ‡§šŸ‡· Why does Brazilian Portuguese sound so different from European Portuguese? Same language, but it can feel like two completely different worlds — and here's why. Pronunciation In Brazil, we pronounce vowels in an open and clear way — what you see is what you get. In Portugal, vowels are often swallowed or reduced, which makes it sound much faster and harder to follow. Vocabulary Some everyday words are completely different. A "bus" is "Ć“nibus" in Brazil and "autocarro" in Portugal. A "train" is "trem" in Brazil and "comboio" in Portugal. Formality Brazilians use "vocĆŖ" for almost everything. In Portugal, "tu" is far more common in casual conversation. The good news? If you learn Brazilian Portuguese, you'll understand European Portuguese with a little practice — but not always the other way around! šŸ˜„ Have you ever noticed these differences? Let me know in the comments! šŸ‡§šŸ‡·šŸ‡µšŸ‡¹
