We are much more patient! We wait until September to celebrate "Día de Amor y Amistad." Why? Because in Colombia, we like to make sure the love (and the party) lasts all year round. But, since I know many of you did celebrated it last weekend, let’s talk about how we express "the feels" in the land of coffee and salsa. Here are 3 Colombian slang words for love you won't find in a standard textbook: "Estar tragado/a" 💘 Literal: To be swallowed. Real: To be head-over-heels, crazily in love with someone. Example: "Estoy tragado de mi novia." "Tener un cuento" 👀 Literal: To have a story. Real: To have a "thing" or a casual romance. No labels, just vibes. "Echar los perros" 🐕 Literal: To throw the dogs at someone.
