Many Japanese love Sakura: cherry blossoms. Sakura is the most symbolic flower of spring in Japan. When Spring comes, Japanese go out for Ohana-mi. “Ohana-mi” has some meanings. One is walking along the path of Sakura, another is having a picnic under the Sakura trees. Bothe are pleasant and peaceful.
There are many kinds of Sakura in Japan, and “Somei-Yoshino” is the most popular in Japan. it flowers before it’s leaves sprout. So, when they bloom, they look like they have snows on their branches. They flower about only a week. Then, the flowers fall.
When time comes, the wind scattered the cherry blossoms. We call it “Sakura-Fubuki”, because it looks as if “fubuki”, scattering snow blowed by the wind.
Sakura-Fubuki looks very beautiful and a little sad. We somites describes young peoples death as he or she dies like Sakura. Sakura is a symbol of grace and fragile.
