Indonesia is a country with rich culture. We Indonesian have respectful manners and are friendly to foreigners (especially in a tourist hotspot like Bali). For foreigners, they have to understand and respect local wisdom. For instance, in Bali, Balinese will pray every morning by putting a kind of incense and flower in front of their house or store. Try not to step on it. Still, in Bali, as a land of god, there are tons of temples, sacred places, and things that foreigners need to pay attention to. Whenever you see something covered up with a checkered cloth, please wear proper clothes if you’re taking a picture with yourself, even if it’s on the beach.

Indonesia is a country with rich culture. We Indonesians have respectful manners and are friendly to foreigners, especially in tourist hotspots like Bali. It is important for foreigners to understand and respect local traditions-, for instance, in Bali, Balinese people will pray every morning by putting a kind of incense and flowers in front of their house or store, which foreigners should try not to step on. As a land of god, there are tons of temples, sacred places, and other things in Indonesia which foreigners need to pay attention to. To any foreigners reading this, I say: whenever you see something covered up with a checkered cloth, please wear modest clothes if you’re taking a picture with it, even if you are on the beach, in order to show respect.
Good work! I have read about the saput poleng to clothe the spirits living inside objects- this is something most tourists don't know about, so keep promoting education about traditions in Indonesia! I hope that tourists in Bali will read your essay.
