Hi Amber! There is also another difference. These are two different constructions: 1) Me alegro de verte, 2) Me alegra verte. The first one is used with the proposition "de", the second one is used without preposition. In the first case, we have got an indirect object (de verte), whereas in the second case we have got a direct object (verte). The meaning of these two expression is basically the same.
