What’s the difference between hug and cuddle?

A hug is a one off thing - you give someone a hug and that's the end of it. Cuddling is an activity that you can continue for some time.

Hug: walk up and put your arms around a romantic partner or close friend.
Cuddle: Lying down in bed next to your partner, possibly with your arms around them.
