What are the difference between "assumptions", "beliefs", and "values" for setting my future goals?

Assumptions:
Assumptions are guesses, sometimes based on personal experience or information. When I see a cat, I assume it has four legs because most cats I have met had 4 legs. When I go to the library, I assume I will see books there because every time I have been to a library there have been books.
Beliefs:
Beliefs are things we take to be true, often without personal experience. Religious beliefs are the easiest example of this. Some people believe in one or more deities or creatures of magic. Some people believe in an afterlife or reincarnation.
Values:
Values are what people find important. Some people value honesty or loyalty, some people value teamwork or nature.
I'm not certain what you mean with context of setting future goals. Your values help you make your choices (Do I value education and go to college or other training? Do I value hard work or independence and start a business?). Beliefs and assumptions contribute to day to day choices (Do I pray? When and where? Do I believe the work I am doing today will help me reach my goals in the future?)
I hope I was able to help some in your understanding of these different words.
